History

Global Automation Partners (GAP) was founded in February 2001 by five partners having extensive experience with Automation and Manufacturing consulting and integration services.

Started as a small consulting firm, the company quickly opened offices in Danbury (CT) and Montreal (Canada) which are today the company headquarters. During its first year of operation, and in line with its business plan, the company recruited senior engineers with the goal of defining and starting its practices, as well as to play key consulting roles with clients that were building new manufacturing facilities or deploying corporate wide business solutions.

In 2002, GAP opened an office in San Juan (Puerto Rico), and started to build a local presence to better answer the needs of clients on the Island. It was a model that would shape the development of the company, making sure that clients would have access to cost efficient services and adequate support past the capital projects implementation. By doing so, GAP was demonstrating a strong commitment to long term relationship with its clients.

With the mission to continue building a strong presence where its clients are located, additional offices were opened in Greenville (SC) late 2003, Indianapolis (IN) in 2004, and Fairfield (CA) in 2005. Over time, GAP has grown to be a major player in the industry, able to implement very large turn-key projects from conceptual design to qualification.

Today, the same five partners continue to lead the organization and GAP, now more than 130 employees distributed over 6 offices, continues to offer the marketplace a one-stop, very focused, platform-independent shop offering clients valued solutions.
